Woodcarvers and Crafters Workshop

This Pilates beginning/intermediate class is taught with strength, alignment and flexibility in mind. Lawn Bowling
This game is open to all ages and is fun, sociable and competitive. The lessons are free and all equipment is provided. The greens are open seven days a week; weather permitting. Reagan Library – Christmas Trees
Tuesday, Dec. 6. Visit the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum and view their beautiful annual Christmas Tree exhibit. This year, more than 60 trees on 5,000 square feet, the display is "Christmas Themes Derived from All 50 States and Territories." OC Fair's Centennial Farm presents Make It, Take It – Gifts from the Kitchen (Food Preservation) on Saturday, Oct. 22 from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. This class will bring you up to date on the latest process recommendations, teach you how to preserve food safely and will provide the reasons behind the instructions. You will learn what equipment is needed and proper storage methods. A simple recipe for Apple Rhubarb Chutney will be taught in class and the chutney will be prepared for participants to take home. Sherman Library & Gardens presents Chrysantheum Show & Sale on Saturday, Oct. 22 and Sunday, Oct. 23 from 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Explore the beauty and variety of the Chrysanthemum. Referred to as the "Queen of the Fall," they come in myriad shapes, sizes and vibrant colors. The plant show and sale will feature blooms and plants grown by members of the Orange County Chrysanthemum Society and include single stems, baskets and vases.
There will be a limited plant sale – arrive early for the best selection. Explore the Park after dark at their campfire open house. Come down to the Berns Amphitheater at Crystal Cove State Park to Chat and Snack with park naturalists and learn about some of the nocturnal animals that make Crystal Cove their home on Saturday, Oct. 15 from 6-8 p.m. You'll have lots of taxidermy, examples of animal evidence, owl pellets to dissect and other fun activities. Bring your S'more fixings as they'll have the fire pit lit. Meet at the Berns Amphitheater (PCH inland at stoplight School-State Park, follow signs towards the campground). $5 park entrance fee.
Crystal Cove State Park is hosting a training for new landscape crew volunteers to help with on-going maintenance throughout the park on Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 10 a.m. Volunteers will weed, trim, plant, mulch and water while enjoying four hours per month in the State Park. With the onset of fall migration, Crystal Cove State Park bird enthusiasts are hosting a Shorebird Walk along the beach at Pelican Point on Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 10 a.m. Come join the walk as you scan the sand looking for the threatened snowy plover and fall migrants like whimbrels, turnstones and black-bellied plovers. Meet at Pelican Point parking lot #2, at the top of the boardwalk near the parking lot (PCH coastward at Newport Coast, right at kiosk to first lot). $15 day-use fee.

Come join a park naturalist for an easy Autumn Bird Walk along Moro Canyon on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 8 a.m. Meet at the Berns Amphitheatre (PCH inland at stoplight School-State Park, follow signs towards the campground). $15 day-use rate.
Come be part of the Crystal Cove Clean-up Crew. Volunteers are needed for Stewardship Sunday to clean the park's coastline and bluff trail and set an awesome example of stewardship on Sunday, Oct. 13 from 8-11 a.m. If you have them, bring your own supplies including buckets and reusable bags to help reduce plastic waste, but they will have supplies available. Meet at Pelican Point parking lot #4 (PCH coastward at Pelican Point, left at the kiosk to the last lot). Parking fee is waived for this event. For questions, contact [email protected] .
